Epiphany 101
The Journey

To exist is to change,   to change is to mature,   to mature is to go on creating oneself endlessly. -- Henri Bergson

Sunday Forum
Epiphany's Sunday session for adults is an open forum where all people can speak their minds on the topic at hand. The round-table discussion is led by a facilitator/moderator. The discussions center around topics of interest garnered from various sources, including topics suggested by forum participants. We periodically have guest speakers and guest resource personnel to contribute to particular topics under discussion. At Epiphany, we understand that people have different understandings about the Bible and about the Christian faith. By sharing our personal knowledge, feelings, points of view, personal concerns, pet peeves, etc., it is our intent to stimulate thought and personal spiritual growth in an atmosphere of acceptance, love, and respect for others' points of view - especially when they differ from our own. Adults of all ages are welcome.

Growth Groups/Small Group Ministry
Our small group ministry consists of our Growth Groups which are lay-led small groups that meet bimonthly in homes.

A new new of Growth Groups began in May as we continue to emphasize the importance of small group ministry.  Our Growth Groups will meet twice a month, for one year, using study, worship, fellowship and service as the foci for each group. The following groups are the listing of groups that are presently meeting.

1 Deepening Our Practices of Faith:  Many times we go on retreat to deepen our faith and then struggle to integrate the spiritual riches we experience into our daily lives. Valparaiso University has founded the Project on the Education and Formation of People of Faith to help Christians deepen our understand of how to live our beliefs.  This project has indentified 12 faith practices deeply rooted in scripture and Christian tradition such as hospitality, keeping Sabbath, testimony, discernment, forgiveness, healing, singing our lives, honoring the body and more.  Our growth group will read “Practicing our Faith, A Way of Life for a Searching People, explore faith practices, and support one another in our attempts to live them.  To learn more about this Lilly Grant funded project, go to www.practicingourfaith.org.
Leader: Robin Brooks; Meeting Schedule—2nd and 4th Mondays

1 Who’s Jesus and What’s This I Hear About Grace?  Who is Jesus?  This is exactly the question Philip Yancey asks in his book, “The Jesus I Never Knew.”  Join us as we discover who Jesus was, why he came, and what he left behind.  We will also examine Yancey’s award-winning book, “What’s So Amazing About Grace?”  Yancey offers compelling, true portraits of grace’s life changing power and examines how we can, as Christians, dispense grace to a world that knows far more of cruelty and unforgiveness than it knows of mercy.
Leaders: Julie List and Susan Rodgers; 1st and 3rd Wednesdays

Bible Study 101: Past Present, and Future through the eyes of Daniel:
Do you want to know more about the Bible?  By looking at Daniel’s life and prophetic visions, maps, archeology, and bible documentaries, we will learn the history of God’s people from the beginning of time to the end, and our place in it.  Will this study be relevant to my life today?   Yes

1. History gives us a foundation to understand God’s Word.

2. Daniel’s life will provide insight to help us in our daily lives.

3. By reading together, we will learn how to get more out of what we read.

4. Learning to read God’s Word will change your life.

Leader: Reagan LaFleur;  Meeting Schedule—2nd and 4th Wednesdays

The following groups are the groups that are currently meeting monthly for study and fellowship:

Men's Breakfast Bible Study Group
Every third Saturday of each month, men gather for breakfast, discussion, and fellowship.  Men who wish to participate can indicate their interest by signing up on the list in the gathering area during the weeks preceding each meeting, or by calling the church.

O-T-D Group
(Other Than Decrepit)

Meeting once a month, this group gathers for study and fellowship to discuss all topics of interests.

Hallowed Hands
Hallowed Hands join in devotion and prayer to send words of faith, hope, and love acknowledging concerns of our congregational family, and words of celebration, acknowledging our joys.  Through written notes and prayer, we will reach to touch those who share our walk with Christ.

Epiphany 101
Each quarter, "Epiphany 101" - a three-session class on the organization and ministry of our congregation is led by Pastor Lingle. This class is for those who want to learn more about who we are at Epiphany - our mission, vision, and values - and how we are organized to minister to one another and to the community.  We have recently completed an Epiphany 101 session.  Look for our next one to begin in the Spring.
