Directions

The Open Arms child Support Center is a child care center for homeless and
low-income children who have been in crisis. The center's operating hours are
6:30am-5:00 pm. It serves children ages birth through five years old. Parenting
sessions are offered weekly on Thursdays from 4:00-5:00.

Regional AIDS Interfaith Network (RAIN)
RAIN is an interfaith ministry that helps people who are HIV positive and those
who have AIDS.  Any person diagnosed with AIDS or HIV who is interested in
receiving pastoral care or services through care teams should contact the RAIN
representative for York, Chester, and Lancaster Region at 704-372-7246, ext.
114.  For medical services and case management, contact the Christopher Clinic in

Offers adult day care for the health impaired, frail adult to improve or maintain
their level of functioning. Prevents premature nursing home placement. A full
range of health related services including nursing, counseling, monitoring and
medical care are available. Transports clients to and from the center, doctor
appointments and medical testing. A care unit is available for those afflicted with
Alzheimer’s Disease.

the spread of HIV/AIDS through education, prevention and emotional and
physical support to anyone affected by HIV/AIDS. Financial support is also
available for those living with the disease.

Provides services to individuals in York County who have mental retardation,
autism, head and spinal cord injuries. The services are provided in a community
setting and the aim is to maximize an individual’s potential to function with
independence. Horizon Industries workshop trains persons with disabilities in
work related skills. The primary goal is to place individuals on jobs in the
community.

Four multi-purpose senior centers provide hot meals, transportation, recreation
and fellowship. Home delivered meals are provided to shut-ins. Homemakers
make home visits to assist elderly individuals with personal care, light
housekeeping and running errands. This program enables elderly individuals to
remain in their homes as long as possible.
