Ken Gillikin, Interim Pastor
Pastor Gillikin began serving as Interim Minister at Epiphany in October 2018. He and his wife, Margaret, moved to the area in 2015 when Margaret accepted a position as Director of Social Studies Education at Winthrop University. They have two daughters, Meghan and Lindsay.
He has served congregations in Asheboro (NC), Kings Mountain (NC), Chapin (SC), Tiffin (OH), and two other congregations as an interim in Clover (SC) and Rock Hill (SC). He is delighted to have the opportunity to be Epiphany’s Interim Pastor as it works throughout this time of transition.
His comments about ministry: “I heard God’s call to serve when I was a teenager. The youth director challenged me to have faith to dream of what God’s Spirit could do through my life. We called our youth group the Faithful Dreamers! I haven’t stopped dreaming and believing in what God's Spirit can do in me and God's people by the wonders of God's grace!"
Child Care Provider/Nursery Ministry
Lori became Epiphany's Child Care Provider and lead of our Nursery Ministry in April, 2015. She was born and raised in New Jersey and moved to Rock Hill in 1999. She and her husband, Bobby, a Rock Hill firefighter, have two sons, Connor and Joshua. Lori has worked with children since she was 20 and currently is employed in the child care department for the YMCA.
Interim Director of Music
Mrs. Vinegar began as our Supply Organist in August 2019 and as Interim Director of Music at Epiphany September 2019. LaVerne was born in Knoxville, TN. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in music from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. She was the first organ graduate from the university. She went on to teach at Roosevelt and Decatur High Schools in Atlanta. She did graduate work in music at the School of Sacred Music at Union Seminary in New York City.
Upon being married in 1965, she moved to Charleston, SC, where she received her Master of Arts degree in teaching at the Citadel and played for a number of years at Redeemer Lutheran Church. She moved to Rock Hill and has served as full-time organist at Woodland United Methodist Church and Chester ARP Church. After her first husband died, she remarried and eventually retired in 2012. She stays active dancing, traveling, and serving as a supply musician for Rock Hill area churches.
We are blessed to have LaVerne's skill and experience to accompany our singing and lead Epiphany's music program!
Mrs. Cunningham began at Epiphany in March 2019. She has experience working for a number of years with Methodist and Baptist churches, as well as with the YMCA and the Chamber of Commerce.
Michelle moved to the Rock Hill area in 2016 with her husband, Bill, and son, Bryce. She is a USC-Aiken graduate (and scholarship volleyball player!) and contributes her skills of graphic design and journalism, as well as many other gifts to Epiphany's ministry in the church office.
She is a native Canadian who came south to attend school, and has moved around with her husband's job, living in Hartsville (SC), Medina (TN), and Waynesville (NC).
Michelle is a welcoming and compassionate presence to all in our church office!
